wireless problem after upgrade to ubuntu 11.10

Hi , I just upgraded to 11.10 and my wireless stopped working , the problem is I saw no wireless at all in the menu , just wired and VPN .

I should explain that in 11.04 I had a problem with my Wifi (it used to disconnect every 2 minutes) then I had fixed it by adding the following line :

    Code:
    options iwlagn 11n_disable=1 11n_disable50=1
    to my "/etc/modprobe.d/options.conf"

then I tried to delete that line in my modeprobe options, and the wireless button is back in 11.10 , but it again disconnects from internet every minute .

I do press the wifi-key on my Toshiba Sattelite laptop but it won't respond , [it wont turn the wifi-light on on my laptop]

if u want to know the result of lspci, here it is :
    Code:
Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N + WiMAX 6150 (rev 67)

    Hi!
I had the same problem as you (resulting from the same fix you have). If you haven't had it fixed yet, the solution (found here), is to change
    Code:
    options iwlagn 11n_disable=1 11n_disable50=1
    to
    Code:
    options iwlagn 11n_disable=1
So far it's been working for me by even deleting that line, but I haven't tried it on my work network where it was problematic before.

    Good luck!

For reference, I have an intel 5100 agn card.

Don't forget to reboot after editing that file.

Also for newcomers, if the options.conf file doesn't exist, you can create it and simply enter that single line. You'll need administrator privileges to do that, so open a terminal (ctrl-alt-T) and type
    Code:
    sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/options.conf
Enter your password, paste in the line, save, close, and reboot.

Hi, I need to state that this option will only work for certain drivers like
    iwlagn
    Thank you

I am having exactly same problem, and solutions shown here have not worked. Any help?

I have a Asus laptop model no: U56E-BBL5 with 6gb RAM, Intel core i5

I also see a lot of
    Code:
iwlagn <ap> fail to flush all tx fifo queues
    in dmesg

So, wireless is completely not working now and I have to sit near by shoe closet on the floor to get a wired connection to post this.
