I wanna change distro to debian mint. I was wondering if it was possible to keep my home-file-partition. Right now i just install the version of ubuntu i want and mount the /home partition. Can i do this in Debian mint?

You should be able to, but I suppose that depends upon the Mint installation program.
sounds good ... i think ill back up anyhow ... i have a extra 250GB drive and a 60GB laying around.
Ill report back with findings and how much i like mint.
my bet is you can use the home partition no problem, but i'd wipe most dotfiles with configuration to get a clean profile. Old configs may be in conflict with new system because of different software versions.
