Code blocks, environment isn't working properly

Hey there folks! this is my numero uno post! so hello to all. I'm running Kubuntu 11.04 and am having some trouble with code::blocks. I have a list of problems. 1 and foremost, auto-completion is not working at all. 2, it wants to be sudo to run my code and 3, keywords aren't highlighting they are all black. Thank you very much for reading though please post back with anything even if your just calling me a noob.

is that a repo version or did you install it manually from deb/svn/whatever?
does wiping the config dir do anything (~/.codeblocks)? have you tried to reinstall?

you can try some other ide like codelite
