    Great, I'm about to install and strip out most of the unwanted - Much better the the ubuntu one

    If you have the disk space, you might want to give the Midori browser a try. I installed Lubuntu 11.10 on 10 year old Thinkpad. It seems like Midori is faster and just feels better than Chromium. Midori on 64 bit desktop Ubuntu running Gnome-shell did not seem as stable or usable.

    that's just it, i don't have disk space. this is an 900a eeePC with a 4 gig SSD. ubuntu 9.04 left me with only 300 mbs. Lubuntu leaves me with 1 gig. i'd rather leave that for files...

    I guess because it's new and still expensive, there is so little space that one can't really do much.

    Well, I'm so happy with my old IDE HDDs which I use for testing
