    Has my HDD died 0r...?

    Have I done something stupid?
I had Zorin installed on my desktop, but it was a bit buggy, so I decided to install Ubuntu 12.04. All was going OK as usual with the install, format drive, mount point etc, then as I was entering my info, name etc, it just quit and said not enough space. Now my hard drive doesn't show in BIOS, I tried a live disc and nothing in g parted. If I try to re-install it says no drive detected.
Have I messed up or is it time to spend money? All ideas mucho appreciated, thanks, Rob.

Try checking that the HDD cables have not come loose. If that fails then most likely the drive has died.
    Good luck

OK thanks. I did try new cables and NADA! Not looking too good right now. Maybe an upgrade to SSD is in order
