    Precise Pangolin, I like

I do wonder, though, what will happen when Ubuntu reaches Z? Will he start over again with A? (I'm sure Ubuntu will be around for a good long while)

I think Persistent Pangolin would have fared better. I think it better represents the core and fundemental ideas of Ubuntu and the majority of it's users. And a pangolin is hardly 'precise' because it 'bulldozes' ant-hills and termite-mouds - an animal of demolition - not precision. But it does point out that it has an amazing ability to problem solve - so I bet this was a tough one for Mr. Shuttleworth to decide upon.

Never heard of the Pangolin, but looks cool alright , was shocked about precise at first, but I guess having an LTS which would be called Ubuntu Precise for years would be very interesting.

    and Quail? birds allowed?

Not crazy about the name, but whatever. Ubuntu 12.04! Twelve-oh-four! That's probably how I'll refer to it.

no, dear ronacc, that won't do, at all.

the species pica pica already, a few seconds ago that is, have claimed the pornographic part of the fore-mentioned name.

qoute: "we, that is the pica pica pinching party, claim that the name pornographic is ours, and ours only. no other bird organization may use that name in any form whatsoever or we will sue!"

    a p.p.p.p. spokesman added:
"just like the pica pica, parrots are birds too. therefore they make use, illegal i may add, of some same parts as the members of the p.p.p.p. in being so.
the p.p.p.p. which i represent, and who claim they invented feathers, wings, flying and every thing else that makes up a decent bird/flying object, will start legal action against any bird, or birdlike organization, world wide mind you, who, and so on,and so on."
