I think Persistent Pangolin would have fared better. I think it better represents the core and fundemental ideas of Ubuntu and the majority of it's users. And a pangolin is hardly 'precise' because it 'bulldozes' ant-hills and termite-mouds - an animal of demolition - not precision. But it does point out that it has an amazing ability to problem solve - so I bet this was a tough one for Mr. Shuttleworth to decide upon.
