    Re: Laptop running hot :/

55C isnt running hot, Ive been running my laptop since 9 o clock and im reading 57C on my couch, and the bottom of my computer seems normal.

As for the fan issue, listen carefully when your computer boots, do you hear any noise?
If so your fans working fine. If not, afer reading all other posts, you have a defective fan.

did you try listening to your computer when it starts up?
If you hear ANYTHING, its your fan.

Give the 11.10 beta a try. Also if the live cd does nothing, see if windows can enable the fans. If windows can, take a look at this (might be a little intense, lol):

I appreciate all the help, and I'm gonna bookmark that site Red, but what i ended up doing is just re-installing. I don't know if I messed something up in the last install, but the fan is working now. O.o Again, thank you everyone for all the help
