What made me smile was when I installed it and I got the message that it had white-listed itself and the icon would be visible next time I logged in Wish more application would simply do that...

I have installed it and somehow I always booted into the classic desktop instead of Unity, if I log out and log back into Unity I end up having two panels on the top (they are on top of each other, one is the normal one, the other being the one from the classic laptop) Uninstalled it and everything is back to normal. Maybe I got some settings wrong? Weird.

Lol, I just downloaded the .deb for Aurora on Squeeze on instinct (Aurora is based on Squeeze, right?). I'm using scrotwm, with no panel (I have tint2 to function as a systray when I call it) or power manager, and Jupiter is going strong. It's like I put another battery in the machine.

Awesome job, fewt, you're getting a donation as soon as I switch to a bank that PayPal supports.

The package from SourceForge isn't really recommended for Ubuntu. It's better to use the Webupd8 PPA.

You're running gnome-panel and Unity at the same time. Unfortunately, you can't just kill gnome-panel, it "respawns", so you need to remove it from startup, then log out and back in.

Does Jupiter use a lot of the same kernel parameters as laptop-mode-tools?

What would you argue are the reasons for using Jupiter over laptop-mode-tools?

This has already been answered here (or in another thread here).

Everything you could want to know about it is in the following locations:

I installed v 0.0.50 too, and it works beautifully.

I have one issue however. My laptop's CPU is reported as running at 50500C in Power Saving mode, which is probably wrong as I do not have a hole melted through my leg.
