    Question System/Administration Problem

Recently installed Ubuntu to my laptop and am trying to get wireless set up with a friends help however he says I must go to System then Administration however I cannot find it. Our desktops are different as he's on a desktop computer and mine is a laptop. Where can these menus be found?
Any help much appreciated as I'd love to get Ubuntu up and running as my main OS however without internet.

That's because newer versions of Ubuntu use a different menu system. I'm assuming you're trying to get to the Additional Drivers tool and install the drivers for your wifi? If so, hit the Windows button on your keyboard and start typing the word "additional". It will pop up as an option and you can click on it and get your drivers installed. You will need to be connected to the internet, which will mean plugging your laptop straight into your router for now.

You can also find it by clicking the Power Button in the upper right-hand corner and selecting System Settings.

right, to get your wireless card running on your ubuntu, you need to install the driverd first by connecting to the internet using the ethernet wire or any other method except wi-fi, once it is up, you ready to go..

I'm also new to ubuntu. With 11.04 there is a network connection icon on the top right of the screen that I found useful. Should display visible networks in your area.

I've struggled a little connecting to hidden wireless, but less of a struggle with ubuntu than Windows 7:

Oh I see, your issue with your wireless card, not connecting (my laptop just used worked with wireless, after making connections)

    Good luck
