    Increase fan speed manually

My laptop isn't cooling very well, and i was wondering if there's an easy way to manually adjust my fan's speed.

depending on your motherboard you may or may not be able to do this with fancontrol and pwmconfig. check fancontrol's man page for instructions and safety warnings.

however, if your laptop is overheating a common culprit is dust build-up in the heat sink -- especially if you have a discrete graphics card. blasting out the heat sink with canned air should allow your laptop to properly cool itself again.
    Not the cupcakes!
    Trust me.
