    Windows Workgroup connection, Ubuntu 11.04

I easily connected to a Windows workgroup not long ago on Ubuntu 10.10. I've just installed 11.04 Ubuntu on another computer and I'm having problems.

Samba is installed and available through power->system settings. I set the WORKGROUP (name) and shared directory elements there, but neither computer is visible from the other at this point. (I have rebooted both machines.)

I keep googling and find tons of suggestions for editing /etc/samba/smb.conf. I've been to /etc and there wasn't even a samba directory. I apparently created one at some point, but that didn't put smb.conf in it.

Never mind. LOL! I forgot that the wireless doesn't automatically come on. I wasn't connected.
