Printing to Windows 7: 'unable to connect to CIFS host'.
Despite finding many resources on the web about printing from ubuntu to windows 7, I think I need some hand holding
I've gone into Windows 7 and turned on file and printer sharing. I've also turned on password protected sharing.
Then I go into Ubuntu and choose add printer.
I choose find network printer. I enter the IP address, workgroup\username, and my password. It accepts the combination.
I then enter it into 'set authentication details now' and click verify, but I get a message ''this print share is not accessible'. Why did it previously accept my auth details then?
If I leave prompt authentication if needed, and then proceed to print a test page, I get the message 'unable to connect to CIFS host'.
I found some posts that suggest mucking up the Windows 7 local security policy, but to no avail.
