No sound through cooler

I bought the Logitech N700 laptop cooler with built-in speakers a few months ago on; running Windows 7. However, I can't get sound to play through it when running Ubuntu. I'm running Audacious and VLC player and both pipe the sound through the laptop's internal speakers instead of the N700. There are several options under "Output Plugin Preferences" in Audacious that contain the N700 but none of them work. I'm thinking the problem is an audio configuration problem in general but how to fix(?)

I am having the same issue. My mute light is on, but I can raise and lower the volume (sound still comes out of my laptop, not the n700)

Does anyone know what to do?
