    Unity booted with limited access

    hey everyone,

Im fairly new to linux and have a quick question. My computer had some problems during the last boot of linux and as a result, i now have limited access to linux. The control panel on the left side of the screen is gone, i only have a simplified top panel now, can't install programs, can't use wi-fi etc etc. Just wondering how i can revert back to the normal unity desktop with full access. Attached is a screenshot. thanks in advance!

Re: Unity booted with limited access

Log out and choose Unity to boot into you are in Classic Gnome right now and not Unity.
I take it you are in 11.04 so when you click on your name in login on bottom will be access to
    Unity or Classic
Remember hence where you come and pass it down.

I have selected "Ubuntu" but it's still loading gnome everytime i login. I've tried to follow the steps taken in this problem; http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1787781 but i can't navigate gnome very well and am having problems trying to find "CompizConfig Settings Manager"
