Question Extracting a VirtualBox VM file from an Ubuntu partition

A few days ago I've encountered a problem with my Ubuntu 11.04, and now it doesn't boot. I've managed to boot with Ubuntu LiveDVD and copy all needed files to another partition. The problem is that I had a Windows XP virtual machine created in VirtualBox, which I can't copy since I don't have right permissions. I have some important files there and I don't want to lose them. How can I copy the virtual machine file?
I must note that I have a dual-boot machine with Windows 7 x64 Professional as another OS.
Thanks in advance for your answers.
