Last week I got a quote on stickers and magnets. I am going to get some prototypes done and if they are suitable, I'll send a stack of each to all of the team leaders.

New England is my favorite part of the USA, and I have lived in Juneau, Alaska, and Portland, Oregon (knowing this it says alot about New England).

I especially like your hometown of Portland, Maine, also Monhegan Island is awesome, as well as Burlington, Vermont.

I hope to visit Boston soon.

Looking for Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Edubuntu/Xubuntu users(and any related derivatives) of this region of the USA.

The Northeastern United States is a region of the United States defined by the U.S. Census Bureau. The Northeast is bordered to the north by Canada, to the west by the Midwest, to the south by the South, and to the east by the Atlantic Ocean.

As defined by the Census Bureau, the Northeast region of the United States covers nine states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Some unofficial classifications of the region add Maryland, Delaware, District of Columbia, Virginia, and West Virginia. We will include 11 (excluding Virginia & West Virginia) of the 13 states listed above and the District of Columbia in our local team

It is important that this local team be aligned with the US Census Bureau definition of the Northeastern United States & include Maryland, Delaware, & the District of Columbia so we can easily do demographic research of Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Edubuntu/Xubuntu users easily and give us a more viable cohesive voice and community spirit.

The networking of this region is important to help in overall marketing and support in this region of the USA. while the land area is overall small compared to the rest of the USA our overall impact in our region and networking of our great cities and states will help Ubuntu tremendously.

*This regional team is modeled after the
    Pacific Northwest Loco Team
    https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PNWTeam

we will strive to instill Ubuntu community unity in the Northeastern region of the United States like the Pacific Northwest region is striving for.

    Hello yozef.

I am really glad and grateful that you are making a Northeastern group in orer to spread ubuntu. I hope you will have success.

I have a question for you. As I was reading your post, I notices that you mentioned that somebody at Pacific Nortwest is also spreading the word about Ubuntu.

I would like to know who are they, so I could maybe join.

    Thank you.

I promised a post of a long term goal, which I will now call the primary directive of the NU Ubuntu Team...I debuted this idea in another thread I started on "Worldwide Ubuntu distribution Map"

    http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=186372

...but we would also sale high-end systems with Ubuntu to raise funds for the Foundation.

This is my primary goal in being the Team Leader of the NU Ubuntu Team.

"10. Start a "NU Ubuntu Foundation" within the USA to collect donations of old Computers, and install Edubuntu/Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Xubuntu for Teachers and Students within the Nu Ubuntu Team region. We will specialize in recycling old MS & apple computers for Teachers, students, elderly and those in need."

    http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=184438

    Not-for-profit does NOT mean Non-profit

I was waiting to debut this idea but no better time then the present, this is an endeavor that I have been woking on for a while now.

please contact me directly or post here if anybody wants to help.

this will be a primary focus of the NU Ubuntu Team.
I have been working on this idea for a while and have befriended a Ubuntu user in Montana who working on a similar project but on a much smaller scale.

but my focus, my idea is on a grand scale.....think of the polish of an Apple store with tech support, selling hardware to raise funds not to profit the people like Jobs or Gates but to raise funds for the NU Ubuntu Foundation.....where are primary endeavor is to recycle old apple and microsoft systems to donate to the needy....while selling the most advanced Ubuntu compatible hardware.

Ubuntu Foundation stores with a heart and soul, unlike the Apple stores.
