Sound Distortion

Hello,

I just installed ubuntu yester day and i am completely new to this stuff. Heres my problem when ever skype does a sound its really distorted, so does anyone know a fix for this?

Click on the sound indicator (the icon/applet) in the indicator tray and at the bottom of that you'll see an option for Sound Preferences. Another window will pop up -- click on the Hardware tab and choose a different Profile from the dropdown. (See screenshots)

This did not help all of them still have distorted sounds.

BUMP, Someone else I know is also having this problem.
