I have had ubuntu installed a few times, and was wondering if there is any good software comparable to IMGburn for ubuntu? Basically to burn stuff to CDs and DVDs.

k3b pulls in a lot of dependencies. If you don't want that, Gnomebaker is a good alternative.

I have not tried it for awhile, but ImgBurn did work in Wine.
