Unhappy Copy and Paste problems with eclipse

Hi I have a annoying problem with my eclipse/ubuntu System.

Sometimes when I try to copy paste : mark a variable or some text with the touchpad press strg+c, mark target press strg+v, it doesn't work and copies some old stuff a copied before from the clipboard. I installed Parcelite to check what happens in the clipboard and it seems that eclipse/ubuntu doesn't realize some copy commands.

If I press strg+c repeadetly before I paste it works, but its annoying and I want it to work immediately.

    Does anyone know a solution?
Is this an eclipse or ubuntu bug?

    Information:
System: Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 2530 laptop
Ubuntu Version: 11.04 (ubuntu classic instead of unity)
    Kernel Version: 2.6.38-11-generic
    Eclipse Version: 3.5.2

Oh sry yeah I mean ctrl (its strg on a german keyboard)
I dont copy paste much outside of eclipse but i was able to reproduce the behavior in firefox.

it occurs in one copy and pastes out of five or so, but there doesn't seem to be any rule.

Yeah system is up to date,

Do you mean gedit with notepad? Ubuntu 11.04 ships with LibreOffice.

try it in LibreOffice? see if this is same, if so... its either system/keyboard/ (possible) driver...? not quiet sure, maybe someone else can help with a command to run to find out...?

p.s. got a spare keyboard (USB) try that too? to see if it is onboard keyboard...

Same issue with gedit i copied something from firefox to gedit then marked a portion of that copied text pressed ctrl+c and went back to firefox but it pasted the old whole copied text instead of the portion. And the copy made in gedit was never in the clipboard (as far as parcellite shows).

I tried another keyboard and had no problems. But since I plugged it in I can no longer reproduce the issue even with my old keyboard. It's very strange. I'm going to work some more with my old keyboard and see if it's happening again.

sounds like a driver issue, but yes do try and see if it happens any other keyboard (if available) to double check!

    but nice one anyway

have you rebooted your machine to see if the issue arises?

p.s. please remember to mark this thread as solved if complete... thanks.
