Suggestion for a Smartphone

Hello fellow Ubunteros and Linux users.

My cellphone just died and I am planing to replace it with a smartphone.
What do you think it is the best smartphone? I am inclined to have one with Android...

But which one is better? (And how is the compatibility with Linux?)

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I am a Verizon customer in the US. (It seems that it makes a difference?)

Smartphones certainly have their individual camps of support.

I personally use a Google Nexus One (the original google nexus) running android gingerbread.

I would suggest a lg optimus one if you don't have big hands. It's cheap 100-150 prepaid and has a sim card. I would buy a more expensive phone but im afraid of it breaking, getting stolen, etc. Apparently it's called lg vortex on verizon. It looks a little different but on the inside it's the same.

Anyway, on tv they were showing a iphone4 commercial and showing how great it was. I had to laugh because my phone could do everything in that commercial.

At one point it was on sale for 99 bucks but is no longer. Hopefully they will put it back on sale again.
