Accounts <50 posts permissions changes : dealing with spam.

My account has been partially disabled. I cannot change avatar, check group messages, etc. I am not aware of disobeying the guidelines or posting controversial items. If I am, please reactivate my account and bring it to my attention.

it is due to spam until you have 50 posts or more

Yes, it is not lost. It will appear again once you reach 50 posts. Sorry for the inconvenience. I'll merge this thread in the other one.

as soon as I reach 50, does that mean everything will immediately appear?
also, I tried to join some groups, and I am locked out of group memberships

I haven't seen any spammer issue, only once or twice, but this is either because of excellent moderators or because they are rare.
Any way, nice idea

Maybe you could add an OR clause so that it's 50 posts or one month membership.

It's the former.

Ubuntu forums moderators are some of the best I've seen.

I'd bet 50 of my posts are from reporting spam alone.

I think 50 posts is a bit steep ... but I don't know the spam profile here.

Otoh 1 month is too short.

Maybe 50 posts or 20 posts and 6 months or ...

I was reporting them everyday, but then im on here pretty much all day recently

The receent changes seems to have slowed them down for sure though.

Just the old methods now of embedded links in the text.

Average 1 post per year. Cause I've searched and found effective solutions BEFORE, I've created only one thread which was solved in less than 5 posts, due in large part to posting concise details of my:

1. setup
2. situation
3. goal

AND the prompt and high quality responses of this community. Now I'm restricted from editing my profile, enabling PMs, joining groups, spam is just spam.
