The regular button reads, "Report abuse". I would suggest that using this button to report solved threads would interfere with the abuse follow-ups, as abuse surely takes a much higher priority.
If you do like the "Report thread solved" idea, I think it would be best to have a different button. But, as implied above, this may overwhelm the staff, especially when the button is used without careful thought. There is also the problem that newbies may confuse that button with the existing "Mark as solved".
Always make regular backups of your data (and test them).

...yeah,so we are back at the beginning:
This new button only for
...old,well-known forum members
....................
Now I stop derailing thread,I promise!
Best app ever: Easystroke
and we are back to time served and well known not meaning they are qualified for the privelege
perhaps an extended privelege application process like the Ubuntu Membership process, or that privelege given to Ubuntu Members, sort of like a Mod -padawan privelege extension abuse it and lose it as it were
Backtrack - Giving machine guns to monkeys since 2006
Kali-Linux - Adding a grenade launcher to the machine guns since 2013
As we type there are
Threads: 1,685,237
I'd hazard a guess that there is a very low % that are actually marked solved - imo it's not really that important a thing to be worrying about
The unfortunate fact is that most people will just start another thread - even if the same issue is marked as solved on the same page.
Does it gain anything - I doubt it
It makes more consistent sense to have a single "inform mod" kind of button also.
