I always browse with NoScript + Adblock + BetterPrivacy.

If I can, why not? Better safe than sorry, and it feels like the pages load faster.

So how is it that you can post on this site without allowing yahooapis?

I know i'm too paranoid, but I dramatically prefer to "white-list" than "black-list" sites.

You can actually do that. (I'm doing it right now as a self-demonstration.) It just displays all the stuff as pure BB code.

Anyway, I wonder how many people who use noscript actually know anything about JavaScript... Like thinking this is a security flaw... Ugh... It's annoying...

Better question, how many need to?

If you want to be secure, your best bet would be to install an Anti-Virus...

    Lolwut?

Has there ever been any JS exploits anyway? That attack OTHER domains or your local machine...

    *shrug* Noscript isn't just JS

    My signature says this too!
    My response in bold.

Also, how do you get by without javascript? You don't. Hint: You click the button to white list the site you need scripts for, there, no more trouble.

    1. You can do email without JS, anyone can set up a mail server, and not all clients are running on JS/etc.

    2. You can use this site without yahoo api's, I enable them anyway, as BB code is ugly.

However, I would just like to point out that the purpose of noscript is to make allowing the scripts you want (Youtube, yahooapi's,etc.) easy while disallowing the rest.

    Noscript blocks flash as well.

I have both yahooapis.com and google-analytics.com blocked in noscript. I have blocked them for quit some time, and everything seems to work.

Edit: I checked and I did have yahooapic.com whitelisted for this site. Without it the smilies don't work. I also think the Ubuntu forum search engine uses it; however, I use Google to search the Ubuntu forums.

Use whatever OS or desktop works for you. Backup your computer regularly, and definitely before upgrading, partitioning, or installing an OS.

No support requests by PM please.

Nope. It blocks Flash, Java, and SilverLight too. There is also a separate FlashBlock extension.

The problem with NoScript is, it is only for computer-savvy people, like us. If you don't know what scripting is (most people don't even know what html is), it is not easy to know when problems is caused by blocked scripts, and if and what third party scripts are reasonable to enable. For normal computer users I recommend AdBlock Plus (in Firefox) or AdBlock (in Chromium).

You dont understand, i DONT discuss about Extensions features...,
i say IRL if people of sites receive complaining about HTML5 not working,
they replace it with an entire Adobe Flash based site, from top to bottom.

I do the reverse thing, i try to replace an entire Adobe Flash based site with HTML5.

Re: How many of you don't surf the web without noscript ?

To the person thar wrote this poll: The options are unnecessary complicated to comprehend.

    1) I dont surf without noscript
    Double negation. Could have been:
    1) I surf with noscript

How many of you don't surf the web without noscript?
    2) Not always ......Sometimes I browse without it
Question and answer doesn't match. Could have been:
    2) Sometimes I browse without noscript

    3) I use Google Chrome / Chromium / Opera. No noscript for us.
False premise. There are extensions similar to noscript for Chromium and Opera. (They are not called exactly "NoScript" and they probably does not work exactly the same, but for the sake of this poll, I think someone always surfing with "BlockIt" or "NotScript" would qualify as a "Yes"-answer. (Sorry "No"-answer, that double negation thing. Or is it "Yes"?)

    4) I don't use noscript coz ........
This is a well formulated poll option!

    Sorry, then I misunderstood.
