Smile How to play wmv video files in ubuntu?

Hi Guys, Trying to play wmv files in ubuntu. But the forum suggests MPLAYER to install. I already installed it. Only audio is playing, but no video. Any suggestions please. I use Ubuntu 11.04, x32 version.

    Thanks.

Maybe codec problem? Have you installed the ubuntu-restricted-extras package?

    Hi chaps,

this should help you out, you need to install "Medibuntu" into your repository!!.

    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu

After that, you can add w32 codecs or w64 Codecs depending on your system!!.

I can't see the point of adding a new repo to your sources since everything you need is already there. I personally never heard of Medibuntu however I can play proprietary formats like wmv.
Of course if you think nothing else works then do like that.
