Install ubuntu on intel iMac without CD?

I have an Intel iMac running OS X 10.5.8.
2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB Memory

I would like to install Ubuntu on the iMac and wipe out the OS X operating system. I'm not interested in a virtual machine (VM).


My superdrive is broken and so I cannot install ubuntu from the CD. I've got ReFit installed and tried to boot from a USB drive containing the ubuntu CD with HTS+ formatting. Any ideas???
