Did you get your CD writer working? I have a DVD-RAM drive, but in the guest XP's Device Manager it only shows up as:
NECVMWar VMWare IDE CDR
I have started this thread at the VMWare forums.
I do not have the linux headers that match my kernel but if i try to install the correct headers by running "sudo apt-get install linux-headers-`uname -r`" i get the following error:
E: Couldn't find package linux-headers-2.6.15-26-amd64-generic
The linux header folders in /usr/src/ are "2.6.15-23" and "2.6.15-23-amd64-generic"
How do i fix this? Thank you in advance.
I resolved this without any modification to xorg.conf but only the 1st 2 suggestions here. I have Dell 700m
my fresh install of vmware only works if I start it as root "sudo vmware"
I have all my fat32 partitions added as 'persisting' and my windows NTFS partion as 'none parsisting' so that I wont kill my native XP installation. Anyway to make it so thta i dont need to run it as root?
I have just installed kubuntu dapper and want to try out the vmware experience. I want to install windows 98se as virtual machine. However to install windows 98se I have to use 2 cd's, the original win98 and then the second edition upgrade (I don't have win98se on one cd). Do you think that this will cause problems with installation of the win 98se virtual machine?
shouldnt cause any upsets that I can see. Think of you Virtual machine as being a computer inside a computer.
great how to!
windows is running great but i cant do a windows upadate?
I get this
[Error number: 0x80072EE2]
"The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem. "
