    Who/what is using my bandwidth

I've got an ubuntu 8.04 server acting as a router on my network, all internet traffic passes through this box.

So what I'm looking for is a way of monitoring what device on my netowrk is chewing up my bandwith and where they are downloading from. Both realtime and past data would be good.

I dont really know where to start looking for something like this, so any pointers would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

I suggest ntop. Pretty easy to set up and lots of reporting features.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I had a bit of a look at ntop today. Looks like it should do what i need... and then some. Just have to work out how to get the relevant info out of it.
