    Question install software

    i have downloaded some ubuntu software from some trusted website.. but i cant install them in my ubuntu.. is there any process for installing the softwares by terminal????

    We need more information.
    Is the package a tar.gz, deb or rpm archive? What file format is it?
    If it is a deb, you can install it using Software Centre.
    If it is a tar.gz, it is likely that you will have to compile the source code.

    Once we know it, we will be able to help you.
