Inkscape is awesome. Ive started making all my own icons. Whats really cool is that you can make your own icons and if you format them correctly you can include them in the Any Color You Like icon set and have your custom icons manipulated in the same way that the stock ones are.

    A good Inkscape manual:

I remember the first (and one of the only times) I have fired up inkscape. I had just grabbed a game and I did not like the default icon, it was very low resolution. I was going to try to make one using gimp but struggled a bit so I tried Inkscape. I had never used a vector art program before however within around 10-15 minutes I made a flawless high resolution replica of the game logo.

I would have to say it is one of the best I used for what it does. The only problem I have with it is how the interface is so vector itself which makes it seem choppy when it really is not. Otherwise just plain awesome.

The interface and the way to use it is very foreign to me too...

The tutorial does this in 5 minutes... and makes it look so so easy... I think it took me half an hour and watching the tutorial 3 times
