    that's not clearlooks, its Gilouche. It's a gradient for one and two, since it is a gradient, without looking I'd guess none of the colors are technically correct so it's expected. You are using a strange theme. Not a bad theme, I like it, but I can't use it for any period of time, for obvious reasons, as you have stated. That's said, a lot of themes do not make adjustments for metacity themes that go darker or lighter than the selected color. Same thing happens in the menu and it drives me nuts that people can't take a few extra minutes to adjust just one more color so it is all unified.

    Yes, I know it's gilouche. I wanted to use that window border with the human/blue controls.
