problem installing ez-ipudate for dynamic ip web hosting

trying to use this program http://www.ez-ipupdate.com/ to work with my dynamic ip address so i can host a small website on my ubuntu 11.04 machine with https://web.easydns.com/ following is the install instructions and after that is the results of the first two commands: './configure' and then 'make'
which results in the error at the bottom. im not sure what this means or how to fix it. any suggestions? the products website has no info.

The simplest way to compile this package is:

    1. `cd' to the directory containing the package's source code and type
`./configure' to configure the package for your system. If you're
using `csh' on an old version of System V, you might need to type
`sh ./configure' instead to prevent `csh' from trying to execute
    `configure' itself.

Running `configure' takes awhile. While running, it prints some
messages telling which features it is checking for.

    2. Type `make' to compile the package.

    3. Optionally, type `make check' to run any self-tests that come with
    the package.

    4. Type `make install' to install the programs and any data files and
    documentation.ez-ipupdate-3.0.11b7

    5. You can remove the program binaries and object files from the
source code directory by typing `make clean'. To also remove the
files that `configure' created (so you can compile the package for
a different kind of computer), type `make distclean'. There is
also a `make maintainer-clean' target, but that is intended mainly
for the package's developers. If you use it, you may have to get
all sorts of other programs in order to regenerate files that came
    with the distribution.

The program is 9 years old. I don't know what a "TLS definition" is, but it seems likely that the program depends on a much older version of gcc than what you get with Ubuntu.

Another option would be to try to use the binary from the web site.

There are other programs you could try. Sorry, I can't remember names off the top of my head.

Re: problem installing ez-ipudate for dynamic ip web hosting

I had a similar TLS error when compiling an older package. In my case the error was related to the errno function. I had to add #include <errno.h> to the source file, filename.c. I renamed the corresponding object file so that it would not be skipped during make, and recompiled. It looks like the old way of doing errno was to declare an int errno, but later the errno.h header was added to the c libraries, and that is what gcc wants to use. I know this is different from your error, but you may be able to find a similar outdated bit of code in the source file that is causing your error. Good Luck.
