    Getting permission

I install windows 7 last night not realising that it would have the boot loader and no recognise that I have ubuntu installed. I have a few reports that need to be handing in today so I booted off a live USB drive hoping to be able to retrieve my files. I've managed to locate them but when I try to open the folder I get an error message ( see attached image).

Does anyone know how I can get into this folder in retrieve the files?

    cheers

    I used to nautilus

    Code:
    gksu nautilus
and I was able to browse all files.

From a terminal try "sudo nautilus" (Use tab to autocomplete, I don't think I spelled it right), this should give you permission to do whatever you want.
