    Elementary OS Luna

I'm sorry, but does anyone else think this looks a hell of a lot better than Unity?

I love the direction they're going, I just wish it would gain wider adaptation.

I kind of wish gnome as a whole would go in this direction. Although, I like the whole workspaces/activities idea of gnome 3, I love Wingpanel and Slingshot.
    That's what she said.

I agree that Elementary does look pretty sweet... I prefer Unity myself though...

I still think Unity is cooler. Like Unity, Gnome 3 is still young and you should see a lot more features in the future.

I appreciate Unity much more now that I'm using a netbook. It makes efficient use of space and I use the launcher to quickly switch from one open window to the next (which I keep maximized). However, I do miss some things in the classic Gnome environment.

Thanks for posting a link to the video, AllRadioisDead. I'll keep an eye on elementaryOS. It looks like a promising project.

    Perhaps.

I don't like that Attack Of The Giant Buttons three page Apps menu, though. I guess they're going for the Netbook/iPad crowd, which I am not a part of. I guess most people don't use desktops or full-size laptops much anymore.

GNOME3 shell looks like 10.04's Netbook edition installed on a desktop. Except you have extra clicks to make before getting to the applications menus.
