    Can I disable system speaker

I have a fairly new Bonobo Pro laptop and I've some Bose speakers plugged in via the headphone jack on the right side of my laptop but I can still hear the sound coming from the system speaker right under my monitor. Is there a way to disable the system speaker and just listen from my plugged in Bose speakers that are hooked up via the headphone jack?

BTW, I love my new system. It is awesome!!

Any help/direction would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Can I disable system speaker

Thanks for the reply. Just one question. Do I have to reboot to now have the sound come out of Bose speakers because I cannot hear anything come of the speakers?

    Thanks again.

Re: Can I disable system speaker

Here is what I have in my sound preferences under the Output tab:

Choose a device for sound output:

    Internal Audio Analog Stereo

    HDA NVidia Digital Stereo (HDMI)

The second option is selected. But now I have no sound even after rebooting.

Again, any help/direction would be appreciated. Thanks.

Unhappy Re: Can I disable system speaker

In the System76 Knowledge 76 page I found this but it appears to NOT be working on my Bonobo Pro:

    Version 2.6.5
Fix Bonobo (bonp5) headphone detection and speaker mute

Any help from support would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Can I disable system speaker

Go ahead and reset your sound setting to how it was when your system was shipped. Once you have that done, we need to make sure you have the latest version of the driver. open up the System76 Driver application, then click on about. Make sure the version you have is 2.6.8.

If you do have the latest version, then click on the "Install Drivers" tab and then click on "Install". Once this is finished, reboot your system, and then the internal speakers will mute when you plug in you Bose speakers.
