I have an eeePC 701 running Ubuntu 11.04. I'd like to use it as a small media center so I can play streamed Internet videos on my TV, however the video on it just seems too slow... like a few frames a second.

I've tried using it to watch Flash videos directly, but even with /etc/adobe/mms.cfg configured and hardware acceleration enabled via the settings dialog in Flash, the videos are still very slow. The same goes for when using Boxee.

Is there any way to get the video accelerated beyond what comes out-of-the-box with Ubuntu 11.04 so I can hook this up to my TV and start using it as a media center?
