Reality check time--Amazon forces DRM on No One. Publishers make that choice. As an author you click the box for DRM or Not as you publish your book, I know, I've seen it, and my books at Amazon are DRM free. So blame the publishers and authors, it is their choice. Once a book is DRM free you can format it for any ereader or device you like. Back up your books and Amazon can never 'steal them', even though they've already publicly pledged that single incident will never be repeated. If you are still unhappy, plenty of old print books around
