Compatibility Issues

I am hitting a wall and am in need of some assistance. I recently installed Ubuntu 11.04 on my mom's laptop to get rid of her problematic windows system. Everything is working fine so far. However she just was hired at Macy's and their employee website,(http://www.employeeconnection.net), seems to not work under Firefox even though I have the right browser. I was able to get the website to work on my system running in virtual box with Windows XP. Internet Explorer seemed to have the ultimate success and even Firefox for windows made it farther until it crapped out as well. Apparently there are just issues with Firefox and this site. Is it possible that the site does not recognize the Linux version of Firefox and that is the reason it is telling me that I need to get the proper software to access the site? Sorry if this is confusing. Any further explanation or clarification will be gladly provided on request.

I just tried the link you posted using firefox 5.0.1 in 11.04 natty and it connected for me no problem , not sure what the problem would be.

Sorry. That was my fault for lack of clarification. The main website that I posted does work for me. If you click the "log in", then I am experiencing problems. I get this site, https://hr.macys.net/insite/SiteRequirements.html, instead of the actual log in site.

Try this:

1. Install Opera.

2. Open the website: https://hr.macys.net/insite/common/logon.asp
It'll redirect you but it's ok.

3. Now right click the page and go to: "Edit site's preferences."

4. Go the last tab the one that says connections.

5. There look for the option that says "Mask as Internet Explorer"

6. Enter the address again: https://hr.macys.net/insite/common/logon.asp

It worked here.

Thank You! That worked and I was able to get into the site. There are still a few kinks to work out thought. ie some of the links once logged in are not responding but my current issue is solved.
