Fixed aspect ratio scaling - legacy ATI

I have a laptop with a Radeon Xpress 200M, so I am bit restricted with the available driver. I can't seem to find a way to enable fixed aspect ratio scaling, if it is even available as an option with the default driver. Anybody got any ideas?

One last try (crosses fingers). There has got to be a way to do this.

    Got the same problem here.
The ATI driver for Linux is very limited.
In one of my screen (the one that doesn't need scaling) I have an "Adjustments" tab, where I can play with the size and position of the picture. But in the other one (which needs scaling or it worth nothing!) that tab is missing.

I don't have an kind of interface to configure the driver at all. With the 200M, I am forced to use the open source driver, which doesn't appear to have any advanced options like you get with the Catalyst drivers.
