I'm not sure how much it'd cost you, or a group of friends, but there's a handful of foss game developers that would likely accept an offer to design a game for you. never hurts to ask.

It certainly does count. I personally run it through Crossover Pro to get the movies, the toolkit, etc. I have bought Crossover Pro which, after all, funds the development of wine.

Let's also not forget Dominions 3, which has Linux, M@c, and W1ndose versions on the disc or can be downloaded.

    Astonishingly deep strategy.

    All the Humble Bundles
    Amnesia: The Dark Descent
    The Penumbra Series
    Quake Wars
Probably a lot that I forgot...

I'm currently looking into preparing a Desura-account for when their linux-client arrives. It's not here yet, but my account already has the Humble Bundles redeemed, need to figure out if it's possible to redeem Amnesia and Quake Wars too.

Re: Just wondering, does anyone play any "bought" games on Ubuntu?

I am still seeking one of those korean-based mmorpgs that work fine with 64bit installation. One game worth mentioning that somehow does not work with latest wine 1.3, but does with wine 1.2 supposedly is "Perfect World International"

I would have to switch to a 32 bit OS to be able to successfully launch the game using wine. That is frustrating for me.

There are other cool games though, but my preference is those hack a slash mmorpg type games with good graphic details and combos.

RTS games on linux are nice, but I am not so into that genre.

Games pulling my attention currently would be demon soul, continent of the ninth, perfect world international, aion online, latest guild wars if my hardware could run it nicely.
My favorite distros: Mint / Manjaro / Archbang
