new pc specs
I have a general hardware question. Not sure if it should go in here. If not then feel free to move it.
I'm looking to build a system that will primarily be running Linux of some flavour. I'm looking to spend about £200 on the processor, motherboard, graphics card and memory.
I have found this combo
AMD Llano A8-3850 2.9GHz Quad Core - £103.00
Gigabyte A75M-D2H Socket FM1 Motherboard - £85.09
2 x Kingston HyperX 2GB (1x2GB) 1600MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM Memory Module - £26.14
Total - £214.22
All from www.cclonline.com
This is using the Llano chipset with integrated graphics. I was wondering what my alternatives are, as I have been out of the market for components for a long time and haven't kept up with what is available. Can anyone suggest an alternative configuration that will give comparable or better performance for a similar price bracket. I am willing to sacrafice some graphical power for processing powes as I am not a gamer.
I don't want to scrimp too much on the motherboard as I would like it to be USB3 and SATAIII compatible.
Thanks.
