    game of intellect

In a 2 stores house with no windows there are 3 switchers on the 2nd floor and 3 lamps on the 1st one. The house is completely empty no tools or stuff like that, and you are alone. How can you find out the connection between the switchers and the lamps by going up and down one time.

ps. you cannot rip the house apart! By defauld the switchers are off.

someone told me this yesterday and I am still thinking.... umm any ideas??

    Turn on the first switch.
Wait a couple minutes, then turn it back off.
Turn on the second switch, and go downstairs.

The bulb connected to the first switch will be warm, but off.
The bulb connected to the second switch will be on.
The bulb connected to the third switch will be cool and off.

Hate to bust your bubble, but, what if they're CFLs or LEDs? Neither produce much heat, though, if you hurry, the CFL might still have warmth.

Nicely asked. I was about to say, what about lamps that aren't based on something like the old tungsten filament and thus won't produce much heat?

They could even be LECs! Google those, they're SWEET!

Though they wouldn't be in a lamp. So, eliminate those from the list.
