    Simple audio editing suggestions?

    Simple audio editing?

I am *hoping* this will be a simple project. Could I get some suggestions of what software to use for this?

I'm making a vocabulary CD for me and my kids - just a CD of pronunciation.

I already have .mp3s of the vocabulary words. What I'd like to do, is mish-mash them, and also varying seconds of silence, into one track.

    So I want -

    el_agua.mp3
    3 seconds silence
    el_agua.mp3
    6 seconds silence
    el jabon.mp3
    3 seconds silence
    el jabon.mp3
    6 seconds silence

and so on, as one new track.

    Any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion. I installed it, and I've been mucking around with it.

    But now I'm stumped.

Can it string together tracks in any practical way?

I have 42 tracks, all which will be played twice, all with 2 seconds of silence added between them. And so far, it looks like my only option is to pile them all in on top of each other, then change the time signature track by track by track. Uhg! It seems like such a straightforward task, I've got to be missing something.

Audacity did do a great job making a silence track for me, that will simplify things if I figure out how to string tracks together.
