Specifically for connochaet OS. (or deli linux, which should I get?)
This will be for a IBM thinkpad 600. How do I change the BIOS settings for this laptop?

You should be able to make a usb stick using unetbootin. Just point it to the iso you want to load.
That won't work for the thinkpad 600 because it does not support booting from usb. You'll have to make a cd.
Edit: You should get connochaetOS. Deli linux was renamed to that.

Oh darn. I have one blank disk. :/
Yeah, I know. But they made it sound like they were making the newer one all fancy and this is a very old machine. Speed/functionality before eyecandy.
And what about Luit? Would that be better? Or something else?
Luit hasn't been updated since 2004, so it's probably not a good idea to use that. Here's a few others to check out
