I cannot seem to find a way to successfully install ubuntu 11.04 on my new laptop, the screen becomes black and gray after I try to boot from my usb and install ubuntu. I will include the specs for my computer at the bottom. What do I need to do to fix the graphics problem or to see the installation procedures? I have tried the 32 and 64 bit versions of 11.04 and both have given me the same black screen

I can hear the sound of ubuntu loading up in the background, but I cant see anything. Also, when I choose to boot from my usb, which option should I select when prompted on the first screen with "ubuntu" on the top and bottom? No matter which of the options I have tried, my screen still displays black and gray bars.

Processor: Intel core i5-2520M 2.5GHz 3MB Cache
Memory: 4GB RAM with 1 DIMM
Internal Backlit Keyboard
500GB 7200rpm Hard drive
Dual Pointing
NVIDIA NVS 4200M 512MB DDR with Discrete Graphics

Those are the main specs of the laptop. It is currently running windows 7 64 bit. Thanks in advance for the help, I am really excited to try out ubuntu whenever I can figure out how to install it.
