Hi Ubuntu Community:
I have built a new computer and want it to server 2 purposes:
- thin client server to other Ubuntu machines in my home, and
- media server, allowing my family to use Myth TV to record OTA TV, and play music at the thin clients around our home
The computer I built is fairly beefy, it has
- an mobo that is set up to be a media server: 6 of SATA ports, HDMI, etc,
- a fast quad processor,
- lots of memory,
- an 1080p HD video card w/ HDMI,
- a nice audio card,
- huge hard disks, and
- ssd disk just for lucid.
My question is: is it really possible to set up the server to be a thin client server, and also a media server???
My strategy is to:
- first: make it a thin client server, and
- then make it a media server.
Does this sound like the right strategy???
Also,
Are there other things I should be thinking about in achieving my goals?
Thanks,
