    Font: Full Greek & Hebrew?

    Dear all

I am looking for a free serif font with full support for both Greek and Hebrew. Most fonts have basic support, and there are a few good ones, e.g. FreeSerif, Linux Libertine and Old Standard, with full Greek support but only partial Hebrew support.

On Windows 7 with Office 2010, the latest Times New Roman has full support, but obviously I don't want to pay the licensing fees if LibreOffice and Ubuntu can do the same job equally well.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

If anyone has a better idea of where to ask this question, such as a forum or something, please let me know too!

    Thanks!

Hm..., I really wonder what you mean by 'full support'.

    Dear Mike

Thank you for the reply. Hebrew and Greek alphabets not only have the basic letters, but also an extensive set of dots, lines and other accents and cantillation marks, which amount for hundreds of Unicode glyphs.

    Dear Bachstelze

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, that font implements some glyphs and marks incorrectly, and I cannot use it. Thank you for the effort!

Ah, I see. Looking through the packages, I've found ttf-linex and ttf-sil-ezra, but I really don't know if they are any good. I can ask at the Israeli forum for you if needed.

Edit: There is also the culmus fonts.

Finding a Hebrew for is simple enough, I think the problem is finding a font for both Greek AND Hebrew.

    Dear all

Thanks for the help. I have been unable to find a font with both full Greek and Hebrew support.

I will be using Linux Libertine and Ezra SIL in conjunction: L-L for the English and Greek, and Ezra for the Hebrew. It is the best I can do for now.

If anyone knows how to ask the Linux Libertine project to think about supporting Hebrew, let me know!

    Thanks.
