    recommended wireless routers

    hello,
i'm currently running lucid lynx as my operating system,
and was told by my phone company that they don't support ubuntu,
however after much chat etc found out that it's the wireless router that's a problem it's a huawei 520b, i bought a philips router and after some help over the phone being guided as to what to put for the ssid etc etc i got connected no problems for over a year.
The router's now broken and i'm back to square one, wondering what router to buy now that will be compatible with ubuntu??
    does anyone have any ideas??
is there a certain spec i should be looking for??
    thanks
    sandra

routers are platform agnostic. they're based on standards that every operating system conforms to so you shouldnt have a problem whatever you choose.

Linksys, Netgear, or D-Link routers are all decent, and can be purchased for a decent price at Best-Buy, WalMart, Radio Shack Office Max, etc.
I have had better luck with Linksys and Netgear though on the wireless end for everything including Xbox 360 and PS3 hook ups

I've been using the NetGEAR WPS. It's easy to configure and works great.

I am from the UK, all of the good routers are easily available over here and as stated they are OS agnostic.

I personally use the Netgear DGND3300 which offers simultaneous dual band and is easily configurable and very good signal strength.

I love it and it is available on amazon.co.uk,staples,pc world,dixons/currys pretty much everywhere as are its similar counterparts, predecessors and newer models.

Pretty much any reupatble name (netgear, linksys(cisco), dlink, Buffalo etc etc will work.

Not overly keen on dlink though
