    Update To Thunderbird 5: Starters

    Hi there,

    i recently updated my thunderbird to the new 5.0 version. it works fine, except that the update process obviously left out the starters in the applications bar. if i click on the thunderbird symbol the old version starts. to get into the new one i always have to use the shell-script. is there any way to update the shortlinks in the menu?

    I had the same issue. I fixed it by going to System/Preferences/Main Menu, highlighting Internet in the left column, choosing new Item and then filling in the Create Launcher fields.
    Type = Application
    Name = Thunderbird
    Command = thunderbird
    Comment = Mail and News Reader
    (name and comment can be of your choosing)
