.exe files not working properly

When i try to run a .exe file, it wont open like it should.
I have downloaded wine, and allowed the programs to execute.

When i try to open it, there pops up a "opening examplefile.exe" and it just vanishes, nothing opens.
This happens on many files that i have.

They may not be compatible. What kind of .exe files?

Most windows applications will not run acceptably or at all in wine.

No -- they're NOT. But ... that is not the issue.

The issue is that only SOME Windows apps will work with Wine.

You need to check out the link provided in post #3 to see if the program AND version you want to run works well in Wine.
